Realizing he is running out of time to find a family member to be Sri Lanka’s Anna Hazare, President Mahinda Rajapakse proposed a reality TV show on Rupavihini to find one.
President emphasized the winner should be partial impartial to politicians of his party and to rest of Sri Lanka. Corruption has no place in his government, president insisted. Title of the show already decided by the president is “Mahinda Dushana Chintana”.
Meanwhile, reliable sources say, UNP already rejected this idea. They, as usual feel being left out and not consulted about the show. UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake complained “As always this government is acting like a Draconian Dictatorship. I even have few sane suggestions to make about the age, looks, sex and dance moves for the hopeful contestants”.
Arjuna Ranathunga, former Sri Lanka cricket captain demanded that he be appointed to the position. Arjuna reminded The Fake Observer reporter, that Hashan Thilakarathna did not rat him out for match fixing and he volunteered to throw his brother in jail for stealing World Cup money. Added Arjuna, he has experience in disagreeing with most everyone including and not limited to Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Australia and England.
However, president feels local Anna Hazare should come from Matara/Hambantota area. Winner will be bestowed with the honorific title “Anagarika Dushanapala”.
Winner of the show will then participate in few government organized hunger strikes and rallies. Later, the President will provide the winner, a Photostat copy of the already written bill “Mahinda Dushana Chintana” to propose to the parliament. Bill is then expected to be passing into law by the parliament in the next ten to fifty years’ time.
